Rising number of diseases of maxillofacial area has determined the relevance of this
research.
Aim
Of work was to evaluate acupuncture efficacy in patients rehabilitation with diseases of maxillofacial area.
Methods

We performed examination of 76 patients with traumatic fractures (FLJ) and patients after reconstructive osteomyelitis operations of the lower (ROLJ) jaw. Standard treatment was applied for patients of the groups FLJ-I, ROLJ-I. Acupuncture was included into the treatment for FLJ-II, ROLJ-II groups.
Studying acupuncture needle effects for patients with traumatic neuritis of n.facialis treatment, we examined 70 patients. Patients of the first group (treatment after trauma or operation in late terms) and second group (treatment on the first day) had standard treatment. Third (late terms) and fourth (first day) groups of patients had treatment included acupuncture.
Results.
Achieved results confirmed efficacy of acupuncture application in the preventive treatment for patients with caries. Results confirmed reduction of the lower jaw regeneration terms on two weeks during the acupuncture treatment which provided morphological formation of the bone during 1,5 months. Final results showed that acupuncture has best functional and aesthetic results for patients with traumatic neuritis of the facial nerve when it’s applied from the first day of treatment and reduces complications on 31,25%.
Conclusions.
Acupuncture procedures combined with complex rehabilitation of diseases of maxillofacial area can improve functional and aesthetic results.
