All aspects of chronic back pain and sciatica are discussed, including definition, causes, the importance of history and examination, the place of suitable investigations including the over reliance of radiology and its overuse, as well as the limited place for surgery. Includes the recognition of “the Deconditioning Syndrome” and finally the acupuncture approach and treatment.
